Bay Film Studios is a new film and video production studio, established in 2008 on the site of the former Maple Bay Elementary School in North Cowichan, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island.

It is currently the only full service film and video production studio on Vancouver Island, drawing business primarily from the film industries in Vancouver Island, Vancouver, BC, and Los Angeles, CA.

Bay Film Studios is uniquely positioned within the North American film industry. The company’s primary focus on independent filmmaking follows important trends in the feature film marketplace.

Bay Film Studios is positioned to fully embrace independent film providing a full line of support from development through distribution. The studios are run “by independents, for independents,” and will focus on supporting established independent and alternative filmmakers as well as cultivating and training emerging talent.

Its geographic location sets it apart from other Canadian film and video production studios. Its management team’s knowledge of, and relationships in, film and video financing, production, and distribution enable the company to provide client filmmakers with advantages atypical in the industry. Its strategic partnerships in Canada, the United States, and Europe will assist with marketing both the in house productions as well as the independent films made through the studio.
